The mandarin tree originates from China and Japan, which is also evidenced by excavations in these countries. From there, they spread to the Mediterranean and the rest of Europe. Sometimes you may encounter the opinion that they originate from the island of Mauritius due to their name, Mandare, which was the original name of the island.

They are a great source of vitamin C and contain pectin and fibre. They help to lower blood pressure and cholesterol.

They have a sweet and sour taste and a refreshing to cooling nature. They clear heat, moisten dryness, and dry out dampness and phlegm. They are excellent for feelings of nausea and digestive problems.
