The pistachio tree originates from the arid regions of Central Asia. Today, they are grown in Turkey, Iran, Italy, Syria, Greece, Tunisia, China, and California. They contain phytosterols, which regulate cholesterol and help prevent certain types of cancer. Minerals found in pistachios include potassium, magnesium, and calcium, as well as vitamins A, B, and E, iron, copper, selenium, zinc, and antioxidants.

They have a sweet taste and a neutral to warm nature.
