The original formula is a patent blend from Minshan, in which 44% of the composition consists of pearl oyster shell – a heavy product that settles rising yang. Its rise is triggered by an overactive mind and the inability to fall asleep. Yang rises because it has lost its anchor in kidney yin (which consists of essence, yin as such, but primarily blood – the fuel for the Shen spirit) – its root is weakened. The blend strengthens it again through herbs such as Eclipta, Privet, and Rehmannia. Together with the pearl oyster shell, they suppress yang downwards very effectively. Other herbs support this effect and also calm the Shen spirit. A significant factor is also the replenishment of blood through Rehmannia and Salvia, with the latter also moving it. Schisandra – the herb of five flavours, protects everything that has been replenished and connects the heart with the kidneys. Therefore, this blend is a very effective remedy for insomnia caused by excessive mental activity, as well as palpitations – a pounding heart that appears at rest, most often when lying down to sleep. That is when we seemingly "have peace" and instead begin to think about things that unsettle us and cause the mentioned symptoms. The heart – both physical and mental – calms down beautifully after the blend, and only a deep, refreshing sleep awaits us.
Always use in the recommended dosage – overdosing can cause weakened digestion, while underdosing or taking it for too short a time will result in the blend not being effective.
