Use of the Traditional Chinese Medicine formula:

  • moves Qi and blood, stops pain in the elbow area
  • clears heat from stagnation
  • soothes inflammation

Description:

This is a modern blend specifically formulated for pain in the elbow joint area, which most commonly occurs as so-called tennis elbow.

Excessive or repetitive, often one-sided strain or load, or an injury, restricts the flow of Qi in the meridians and collaterals that run through the elbow area. In the area of the joints, where the meridians are always narrowed, it is therefore very easy for stagnation and blockages to form. It holds true that as long as it is only a matter of Qi stagnation, the pain is transient and dull. When Qi stagnation turns into a more serious blood blockage, it manifests as sharp pain, which is often spontaneous, or the pain may also appear at night.

The blend contains herbs that enter the meridians and smaller collaterals and move the blockages. They move both Qi and blood, thereby stopping pain and improving blood circulation in the affected area, which can then heal better. This is also aided by herbs such as peony and spatholobus, which simultaneously nourish by replenishing blood. In this way, the tissues are calmed and the elbow stops hurting.

Indications:

  • pain in the elbow area
  • often manifests during rotational movement of the arm

Modern use

  • tennis elbow

Tongue:

  • can be purplish in case of severe pain

Pulse:

  • variable, possibly showing xian or jin in case of pain

Contraindications:

Note:

According to the theory of Chinese medicine, the treatment of a disease until recovery takes about 1/2 of the time it took for the disease to develop. In the case of long-term problems, it is therefore necessary to use it for a longer period in sufficient doses.
